Welcome Message

Dear esteemed speakers and attendees

Welcome to the 2026 International Workshop on Risk and Insurance. The insurance landscape is being reshaped by rapid technological change, interconnected cyber exposures, and the impact of climate-related extreme weather events. In this context, the 2026 International Workshop on Risk and Insurance brings together researchers and practitioners to examine how these developments are transforming the insurance industry and the broader field of risk management. The workshop is organized around three thematic areas: AI revolution and cyber risks; climate change and extreme weather events; insurance data science and market innovations. Across these sessions, we aim to promote rigorous discussion on emerging risks, methodological innovation, insurance pricing, market design, and the policy implications of data-driven risk management. We hope this workshop will provide a forum for intellectual exchange, new research directions, and collaboration among scholars and industry experts. It is our pleasure to welcome you to Seoul, and we look forward to the ideas, conversations, and collaborations that this gathering will make possible.
